Welcome to the Healthtech Acceleration Symposium and Matchmaking 2023 event booking platform.

Through this Healthtech Acceleration Symposium and Matchmaking 2023 platform, you will be able to book your physical attendance to presentations and request pre-arranged one to one meetings with registered attendees.

One to one meetings will happen throughout the event in a dedicated space in Portsmouth Guildhall. 

- This is a unique opportunity to meet clinicians, discuss funding, Public and Patient Involvement, the design of a clinical trial and business support to accelerate your journey. 
This is a chance to have a face to face meeting with representatives from organisations such as Portsmouth Hospitals University Trust (PHU), Innovate UK EDGE, University of Portsmouth, British Standards Institution (BSI), Department for International Trade (DIT), and Wessex Academic Health Science Network (WAHSN). 

- Funding:

Regarding the chance to win funding to support collaborative engagement with the University of Portsmouth and Portsmouth Hospitals University Trust, this also an opportunity to meet relevant people from the university to discuss a potential engagement and complete your funding application (competitive process) during the event.

- Innovate UK EDGE Research and Technology Organisation (RTO) funding:

You might also consider meeting Innovate UK EDGE specialists to discuss eligibility of funding to work with a Research and Technology Organisation (RTO) such as Clinical Practice Research Datalink (subsidiary of MHPRA), National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE); Health Data Research UK (HDR UK); Centre For Process Innovation (CPI) - Electronics; Manufacturing Technology Centre; Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust; The Medical Technologies Innovation Facility (MTIF); Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust.

The RTO funding (£15K during previous years) still to be announced will cover:

  • Explore and test new product ideas
  • Seek technical expertise and specialist sector knowledge
  • Gain advice on regulatory and government processes as well as access networks of customers, services and funders
  • Receive Sector specific expert advice and support with market analysis, cost modelling, business‐case support, creation of industry‐relevant R&D project plans
  • Identify opportunities for R&D, collaboration, and partnership building
  • Receive support to commercialise their innovation, including improving efficiency, making their business operations more sustainable, or investigating market gaps.
